It looks like a simple connector of your antenna cable. And it is, but there is more to it.

These connector tubes used to be open. This was to allow adjustment to it’s counterpart in terms of diameter. Without the cut, it would be much stronger and create a better connection. This would require much smaller tolerances and that is not so simple.

NGF was asked to create a tool for this part. The height to diameter ratio is high. Maintaining a diameter within thousandths of inches is very difficult, but we succeeded at last, due to the very thorough analyses of the process.

The connectors are now manufactured at large quantities. Maybe your connector is one of them.
